Questions about our Baltimore and Annapolis Tours?
Our “TOP TEN” list of Questions
All prices are per flight, not per person– so go ahead, bring two friends! Each flight holds 3 passengers, and flights booked for 2 are private – we’ll never “throw in” another passenger, because that would be just weird on our romance flights, don’t you think?
We obtain our weather information from approved FAA sources, and that information is often very different than what you may see on the Weather Channel! Still, it is not often accurate more than a few days out. We suggest ignoring the TV weatherman, and schedule to tour Baltimore or Annapolis on a day that works for you! We’ll forecast it within a few days of the flight, and if it’s looking ‘iffy’ we’ll call you with a ‘heads up’.
Heck, on rare occasions, even we need to reschedule flights due to weather or maintenance. We understand you may need to cancel or change your flight time. Monumental Helicopters will do our best to reschedule your tour for another date and time that suits you. Can’t reschedule? Refunds are not a problem! We are always happy to refund in full immediately if you have purchased your flight through this website or by phone. Simply call or email us within 24 hours of your flight to reschedule. “No shows” will be charged $50. If you purchased your tour through a 3rd party you will need to contact them directly to discuss their refund options. You may reach us at or MonumentalHelicopters@gmail.com
YEP, we fly at night– that is when you’ll find some of the prettiest city views, and it’s one of our favorite ways to tour Baltimore
YEP, we fly in winter– we have heat! And frankly, the skies are bright blue and you can see lots more without the leaves on the trees. Professional photographers prefer this time of year, so there ‘ya go! Oh! And be sure to watch for our fabulous “holiday lights” and “Raven’s Tailgate” flights that time of year!
YEP, we have doors on the helicopters – in the summer, we will take them off on request.
YEP, you may bring electronic devices, and we hope you’ll take photos and share them with us! We only ask you to refrain from using your camera’s flash on night flights for the sake of our pilots’ night vision.
You don’t need to come early! People are so excited to fly that they often show up a half hour or more before their scheduled flight time. We are located in a secure hangar, and will need to greet you at the door. If you arrive more than 15 minutes before your flight, we are usually flying or fueling, and unable to answer your call or provide you entry to the hangar until closer to your scheduled flight time
YEP, kids are welcome, and so are old kids! Very young children (under 2, weight permitting) may sit on an adult’s lap, as per FAA rules. Children must weigh at least 35lbs to be seated properly. We will require at least one adult on the flight. We’re always surprised at how much kids absorb of the experience, but maybe it’s just because they are rarely focused on texting and taking selfies. In all seriousness, it’s a great experience to share with kids.
Our seat weight limit is 280 per passenger (minimum weight is 35lbs), but we reserve the right to refund should we find calculated weight and balances to be an issue before a flight. If there will be three passengers, all at the high limit, we may need to make allowances for fuel and temperature, but because we ask weights upon booking, and are very careful to perform weight and balance checks well in advance of the flight, this should not be an issue.
Excellent experience for son’s 7th Birthday. We had a great flight. The tour of Baltimore was awesome. We saw M&T Bank Stadium just before the game and the inner harbor, Fort McHenry, the Chesapeake Bay just to name a few. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your tour. I can’t thank them enough. This was an excellent idea for a day out with my son! -Google Review
